West End Theatre (Manhattan)
West End Theatre is a theatre building in Harlem, New York City, built in 1902 by Meyer R. Bimberg〔(New West End Theatre ) November 2, 1902 New York Times〕 in a structure that now houses the La Gree Baptist Church.〔(West End Theatre ) Cinema Treasures〕〔(West End Theatre Harlem, 1903 ) Harlem World Magazine〕 It is located on 125th Street between St. Nicholas and Morningside Avenue.
Bimberg, who came to be known as ''Bim the Button Man'', made his fortune selling campaign buttons. He had five theatres built in New York City before his death including what is now the Belasco Theatre.
Rev. Wayland Williams presides at La Gree.
